The SMU Philosophy Department is currently looking for an Assistant Professor of Philosophy.
The position, fully anchored in the Philosophy Department, is part of a cluster hire involving 8 departments across the university, which is organized around cities in the 21st century and some of the issues their inhabitants face. The purpose of the cluster is mostly to foster a community of scholars interested in similar questions across disciplines. Research and teaching areas are both open, but, at a minimum, the department has needs for certain types of courses that broadly fit the cluster.
