Membership of the Australasian Association of Philosophy (AAP) is open to professional philosophers, as well as to all interested persons. The Australasian Association of Philosophy (AAP) is a non-profit company limited by guarantee. Membership of the AAP is available only to individuals, whose subscription monies go entirely to the Association and are applied to its purposes. On the winding up of the company members liability is limited to $10 per membership. Members are either Ordinary or Associate Members. Ordinary members are those members, including research students, who are or have been active in Australasian (Australia, New Zealand & Singapore) philosophy at tertiary (postgraduate research) level. Ordinary members have voting rights at AGMs. Associate members are those members, including research students, who have NOT been active in Australasian philosophy (Australia, New Zealand & Singapore) at tertiary (postgraduate research) level. Associate members do not have voting rights at the AGMs. In all other ways, Members - Associate and Ordinary - have the same rights and benefits. The Concession rate in either the Ordinary or Associate category is available to postgraduate research students, retirees and those earning less than A$35K p.a. On application, new members wishing to apply for the concession rate must declare their eligibility. Undergraduates studying philosophy at an Australasian (Australia, New Zealand & Singapore) institution may apply to be Undergraduate members, and are Associate members. As such, Undergraduate members do not have voting rights at AGMs. |
