How far should environmental protest go? Tuesday 9 July 5:45 - 7:00pm Wesfarmers Lecture Theatre, Business School, University of Western Australia A panel discussion on the limits of environmental activism, featuring academics and activists, including audience Q&A. A film night of truth telling. Wednesday 10 July 6:00 - 8:00pm Wesfarmers Lecture Theatre, Business School, University of Western Australia A public event held in conjunction with the AAP Conference organised by the AAP's Philosophy in the Community Committee. Featuring a screening of a few short documentaries under the broad theme of indigenous knowledge, the environment & climate change, followed by small group Community of Inquiry discussions (run by trained facilitators), and a panel session with experts. More information and registration HERE Thursday 11 July 11am - 4pm Wesfarmers Lecture Theatre, Business School, University of Western Australia Organised by the AAP Undergraduate Committee, UWA conference organisers and UWA Undergraduate Philosophy Society, the Undergraduate Philosophy Winter School is a one day hybrid event held simultaneously with the AAP Conference and in the same location. Speakers: Jacqueline Boaks (Curtin University) Tim Flanagan (Murdoch University) Lucia Neco (University of Western Australia) Heath Williams (Notre Dame University, Australia) The event is for philosophy undergraduates and interested senior school students from the Australasian region. Lectures will be followed by a round table discussion on pursuing an academic career as a philosopher and getting into graduate school. Organisers: Zoe Nelson and Guillermo Badia There is no cost for undergraduates who are AAP members attending the Undergraduate Winter School.
