Position Description
The RW Seddon Fellowship at SHAPS, offers a unique opportunity for a Research Fellow in Philosophy of Science. Focus on scientific knowledge creation, theory generation, and reasoning. Strong research track record required, with potential for a continuing 'teaching and research' role after a fixed-term period.Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting and publishing research in line with Faculty of Arts standards
Seeking and applying for external competitive research funding
Engaging actively in research activities within the discipline, including seminars and conferences
Building and fostering networks with other universities and institutions to facilitate collaboration
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an applicant with capacity for multidisciplinary collaboration, supervisory skills for honours and postgrad students, excellent interpersonal behavior, and active involvement in HPS program activities.
You will also have:
A completed PhD in philosophy of science or relevant discipline
An excellent record of high-quality research in philosophy of science, specifically in the field of scientific knowledge creation, theory generation, and associated scientific reasoning
The potential to gain research funding from national and/or international competitive research bodies, and other sources
