The University of Queensland is seeking to appoint two postdoctoral Researchers in philosophy, as part of a project entitled “The Causal Power of Information in a Quantum World.” The appointments are for a period of up to three years. The project is a collaboration between Philosophy and Physics at the University of Queensland. The successful appointees will develop research projects broadly related to any aspect of the study of quantum causation and the metaphysics of quantum information.
Applicants will require a PhD in the area of Philosophy and/or Physics, with demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of metaphysics and/or philosophy of physics. The position holders will be expected to undertake a plan of high quality research and publication, as well as organising activities in support of the project.
These are full time, fixed term appointments at Academic Level A (level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience). The remuneration package will be in the range of Associate Lecturer (Level A) $57,330.21 to $77,764.39 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range of $67,076.35 to $90,984.34 pa).
