STREAMS
Papers are welcome in all areas of philosophy. Special conference streams include:
Indigenous Philosophy
Invites papers that engage with Indigenous philosophical traditions, methodologies, and worldviews. We welcome contributions that explore Indigenous approaches to all aspects of philosophy (broadly construed), as well as work examining the intersections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous philosophical traditions. We especially encourage submissions that highlight Indigenous voices, challenge colonial assumptions in philosophy, and advance dialogue across cultural and intellectual boundaries.
Artificial Intelligence
Invites papers and panel discussions on the intersection of artificial intelligence and philosophy, including the philosophical investigations of artificial intelligence and reflections on how artificial intelligence affects philosophy.
Critical Thinking
Welcomes papers, workshops, and panel discussions on the themes of Critical Thinking and Argumentation, broadly understood. We invite submissions relevant to these themes from educators in any area of the sector (including schools, tertiary, PTE) or discipline.
Feminist Philosophy
Invites papers from any branch of feminist philosophy or the philosophy of gender.
Truth, Post-Truth, and Truthfulness
Welcomes submissions on the nature and value of truth for a bespoke stream offered over the 4-day conference. Submissions to this stream may address traditional long-standing debates that have occurred in the truth-theory literature, as well as philosophical issues and problems to do with truth and truthfulness that have arisen amid the deeply polarised socio-political crisis of the last two decades. Submissions that address one of Michael Lynch’s books or articles are especially welcome to this special stream.
