'Religion and Art'
Dr. Ian Weeks
Fellow in Philosophy Melbourne University
Dr. Weeks will examine how the history of art is used as a lens to examine aspects of the history of religion and the history of religion is used as lens to examine aspects of the history of the arts. The Arts began in the service of the gods and of kings and queens. Today in many parts of the world, art is used to appear as a substitute for religion.
