Philosophy Circle - History of Western Philosophy (part 3)
When
27 Oct 2010
6:30 PM
Location
The Gaelic Club, 64 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, Sydney
There will be a meeting at 6.30pm, Wednesday 27 October 2010, on the third book of Bertrand Russell's, "History of Western Philosophy". Discussion will involve Russell's overall view of the topic, as well as two or three chapters examined in closer depth.
***
6.30pm, Wednesday 27 October 2010 (normally every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month)
We'll start just after 6.30pm, and continue till 8pm-8.30pm. Format is usually: short speech, then two or three rounds of discussion, with breaks in-between. Often we'll go to dinner afterwards. Participants are welcome to come or to leave at any point during the evening.
Incidentally, anyone is welcome to present on any topic related to philosophy (just let me know, and I'll book you in).
No cost. No reading required beforehand. All welcome!
Location: members bar, floor 1 (keep winding up to the top of the stairs), The Gaelic Club, 64 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, Sydney (100 metres from a Central railway station exit). We'll be armed with the Oxford Companion to Philosophy and a bell. Usually we meet ***out on the terrace*** (or ask at the bar if you're not sure). Usually a small group -- half a dozen to a dozen people sitting in a circle.
