AAP Standing Committee for Women in the Profession
The AAP Standing Committee for Women in the Profession was established in 2009 for the purpose of increasing the participation of women in the philosophy profession in Australasia.
The committee was established in response to the findings of the Report - Improving the Participation of Women in the Philosophy Profession (IPWPP), released in 2008.
As part of its activities the committee will monitor the implementation of the recommendations of the IPWPP Report, as well as develop strategies for improving the participation of women in the philosophy profession in Australasia.
On these pages you will find:
- information relating to the participation of women in the profession, including reports, papers and data on women in philosophy;
- links to organisations for women in philosophy and other related resources; and
- Women's Works - a database of papers by women philosophers for inclusion in undergraduate teaching.
It is anticipated that this site will also allow for the sharing of strategies that have been successfully employed in philosophy programs in Australasia and elsewhere.
