Undergraduate Philosophy Journal of Australasia - annual conference

  • ANU and hybrid

The Undergraduate Philosophy Journal of Australasia is holding its annual conference on the 26th of October between 10 am and 5 pm. This is UPJA's first hybrid conference, taking place at the ANU campus, with Zoom options available for students across Australia and the surrounding region.

We are hoping you can share this opportunity with your undergraduate students and encourage them to register their attendance.

We will have Professor Alan Hajek from the ANU as the keynote speaker. We will then be presenting a series of talks from undergraduate students throughout Australasia. Students will be presenting work that they have produced during their undergraduate degree in a variety of topic areas.

Our goals for the conference are to allow undergraduate philosophy students to present their work to a wider audience and to give them a chance to engage with the work of their peers. Being an international event, we also hope it will give students a chance to collaborate and network with students from philosophy departments elsewhere in Australia and overseas.

Many of these students will also likely not have attended professional conferences beforehand, so we hope to give them a chance to be exposed to what it is like to both attend and present at this level. We also think students will benefit from being exposed to high-level work from their peers across a variety of philosophical disciplines, some of which they may not have engaged with previously.
