Deakin Philosophy is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Philosophy with  
research interests in the history of philosophy, Eastern Philosophies,  
and philosophies of religion and a proven teaching record including  
with first year classes. The ability to teach across a range of the  
units we offer, including the Philosophy of Religion, is desirable.   
Philosophy at Deakin includes specialisations in Continental  
philosophy and Eastern Philosophies and has research strengths in  
ethics, philosophy of religion, social and political philosophy, cross-
cultural studies and psychoanalytic philosophy

The appointee will be responsible for:

Teaching in the area of philosophy at the undergraduate and  
postgraduate level in a manner that is consistent with the principles  
of teaching, learning and the student experience.
Developing learning environments that are flexible, student-centred  
and accessible, utilising appropriate technology.
Building a national research record, including producing publications  
and generating external research income.
Participating with colleagues in developing and maintaining links and  
partnerships with the profession and the wider community.
Undertaking appropriate administrative tasks.
