PhD Scholarships in the Philosophy of Religion

Scholarship Description

The School of Philosophy at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) recently established a research group in Philosophy of Religion, which aims to become the leading centre in Australasia for the study of Philosophy of Religion.

The group is headed by Professor Kevin Hart FAHA, an internationally acclaimed philosopher, theologian, literary theorist and poet. Other members of the group include: Dr. Nick Trakakis, best known for his work on the problem of evil and meta-philosophy; Dr. Jeff Hanson, who formerly taught at Boston College and specialises in contemporary Continental Philosophy and Kierkegaard; and Dr. Chris Hackett, whose research lies at the intersections of phenomenology, philosophy and theology.

ACU is now offering top-up scholarships for up to two PhD students to work on issues in the Philosophy of Religion. Applications are welcome from both those working within the Anglo-American analytic tradition of philosophy and those conversant with European or 'Continental' philosophy.
