This conference will focus on biological individuality from an evolutionary perspective, addressing topics ranging from the origins of life and complex organisms to the development of animal cognition. We have invited both theoretical and experimental biologists, alongside philosophers, to foster cross-pollination between the disciplines. We also hope this conference will not only bridge philosophy and biology but also advance our understanding of major evolutionary transitions.
