The Research School of Social Science at ANU (RSSS) is seeking a highly capable and self-motivated Postdoctoral Fellow for 12 months to work on an ARC grant titled "Gendered Excellence in the Social Sciences", together with researchers in sociology, philosophy and political science. The project aims to investigate continuing gender inequality in several social science disciplines by critically examining the relation between women's under-representation and disciplinary conceptions of research excellence. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work on generating case-studies in selected social science disciplines, through analysis of how disciplinary knowledge has been inhibited by inattention to gender issues or has benefitted from including them. Candidates with a background and interest in gender studies, feminist epistemology, philosophy of social science, sociology of knowledge, organisational and institutional studies, science studies, or disciplinary history of social sciences, are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates with other interests and backgrounds will also be considered.
